‘Live This Time in Authentic Penitential Spirit & Conversion, As a Return to the Father, Who Awaits All With Open Arms’

March 06, 2019. Pope’s Lenten Advice to Young, Newlyweds, and Sick

This was at the heart of Pope Francis’ Lenten advice to young people, the sick, and newlyweds during his March 6, 2019, General Audience in St. Peter’s Square.

Saying he had something special to convey to the young people, the sick and newlyweds, the Holy Father gave the following recommendations for the Lenten journey that began today, with Ash Wednesday.

“Today, Ash Wednesday begins the Lenten journey. I wish each of you to live this time in an authentic penitential spirit and conversion, as a return to the Father, who awaits all with open arms to admit us to the most intimate communion with Him.”
